Diane Patrice Youtz Person, 76, of Williamstown KY, was born August 12th 1946 in Valley City, North Dakota to H. Laurel, and Marvel Youtz. Her father was a banker in Rolla, North Dakota, where she grew up with her older brother Jim and younger brother Dusty. The family then moved to Bismarck for a couple years and then to Jamestown, North Dakota in 1959. Diane attended Jamestown College from 1963-64, and North Dakota State University from 1965-67. Afterwards she moved to Vail, Colorado for seven years. She met Bob in Vail in 1975 and they were married in Las Vegas on Dec. 6th 1975. The couple then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they lived for 30 years and raised their sons Jeremy and Jonathan. Her summers were spent with the kids at the cabin at Williamstown Lake in Kentucky. Once empty-nesters, Diane and Bob moved full-time to Williamstown Lake where Diane designed the new addition to the cabin. Holidays were spent at the lake with traditional Scandinavian cooking, surrounded by family and friends.
Diane enjoyed knitting hats, scarves, sweaters, and other items for friends and family, especially their young children, as well as other cancer patients. She was also an avid gardener, growing and propagating Christmas Cactus plants that had been her grandmother's.
Diane is survived by Bob, her husband of 47 years; oldest son Jeremy, and his wife Rachel of Portland Oregon, youngest son Jonathan, and his wife Tracie, and granddaughters Ava and Lena, of Union Kentucky; brother Dusty Youtz, and his wife Nancy of Cincinnati, Ohio; and nephews Dane, and his wife Alicia and Jordan.
Diane will be laid to rest in her beloved Jamestown, North Dakota at a family gravesite alongside her father, mother and older brother. The family requests any donations be made to the St. Elizabeth Cancer Center.
