Iva Mae Ritner

Iva Mae Ritner, 86, of Cincinnati. Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and friend passed away on September 20, 2016.

Iva was born July 8, 1930 in St. Clairsville, Ohio to the late Robert and Anna Marjorie (Wiley) McFarland. On July 25, 1964 she married Norman Ritner who preceded her in death on February 6, 1993. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Raymond and Lloyd McFarland, and a sister Lois (McFarland) Bittikofer.

Iva is survived by four children William Edward, Donald (Denise), Cathy, and Mary (John) Getner, three grandchildren Ashley, Alexandra, and Miranda, and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gianna, Jayden, Audrey, and Lilianna.

Iva loved to travel, play cards, bingo and Yahtzee, attend events with friends at the Hyde Park Center, and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church for decades, where she held many roles including Deacon, friend, and mentor. She was recently welcomed into the Zion United Church of Christ. She gave back to her community in many ways including volunteering, visiting shut-ins, delivering meals on wheels, and working the polls. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at the Naegele Kleb & Ihlendorf Funeral Home 3900 Montgomery Rd. Norwood on Friday, September 23 at 10 am. Friends may call on Thursday, September 22 from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati or Hyde Park Center for Older Adults.
