Proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years Carol, her brother W.E. Metzger Jr., and her sister Betty Luebberman (Metzger) and their spouses.

Survived by her son Vernon, her granddaughter Georgia Lee Shafer, numerous nieces and nephews and their children, for both the Shafer and Metzger families.

Kathleen graduated Norwood High School January 1939, and married Carol on her birthday in 1944.

She gained full time employment during the war, was with Curtiss-Wright Corp in payroll (formally Wright Aeronautical, eventually evolving in to GE Aviation) and later worked with her husband as a secretary for Binns Machinery Products in St. Bernard.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, bowling, and drawing. Later in her retirement years, Kay enjoyed traveling and attending church with her husband, water aerobics, line dancing, and lunches with her many friends at the Norwood Senior Center.

An avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, she attended Spring Training in Arizona for her 95th birthday, and watched the Reds on television throughout the season, win or lose.

Kathleen was a very giving person, with many cherished friends and family in her life. We were blessed to have her with us for so long.

A short memorial service will be at Norwood Christian Church on Ashland Ave on Saturday March 11, 2023, starting at approximately 11am, followed by some fellowship and light refreshments afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to The Shriners, if you so wish.
