Mary Cynthia Hill
Mary Cynthia Hill 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence at Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community, Hyde Park, Cincinnati. Cindy was born April 16, 1943 in Cincinnati to Marie Wilp of Reading and James Nicol of Selkirk, Scotland. Cindy was raised by her grandmother, Loretta Wilp Schwender, an incredibly strong woman of great faith and self-reliance, and was always surrounded by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She grew up in the Norwood community and was a member of St Matthew Parish, later Holy Trinity Parish, attending elementary school at St. Matthew Elementary School and Regina High School. In May 1962 she married John Wolf and they had a family of three boys and 4 girls. She worked many years for United Dairy Farmers, and later a career with the City of Norwood in Public Works, and as a Police and Fire Dispatcher. She married Plesie Hill of Norwood in Nov 1986.
Cindy was an avid reader with a keen interest in history, but she had particular interest in her Scottish Heritage, becoming an active member of the Scottish Highland Clan MacNicol Society of North America. She attended the Clan MacNicol Federation International Gathering on the Isle of Skye in 2008, saw much of the country, and located her father’s birthplace in Selkirk.
Cindy joins her son Donald Grant Wolf, her sister Virginia Ritenour and brother John Ritenour in eternal life, and is survived by her sons Clifford (Claudia) Wolf, Thomas (June) Wolf, and her daughters Ann Wolf (James Miller), Kathleen (Scott) Kincaid, Jennifer (Frank) Clemmons, and Cynthia (Kenneth) Kramer, as well as 9 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter and 7 great-grandsons. She also leaves behind her sisters Rosemary (Paul) Ellis, Kathryn (John) Clark, Maria Elena (Bryan) Raver and her brothers Richard and James Ritenour. Visitation will be held at the Naegele, Kleb & Ihlendorf Funeral Home, 3900 Montgomery Rd, Norwood on Thursday, March 10, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Montgomery Road & Drex Avenue, Norwood on Thursday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mass will be lived streamed at www.holytrinitynorwood.org. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Parish, Norwood, or to Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community at https://www.episcopalretirement.com.
