Mary "Theresa" Truesdell (nee Hayes) loving wife of the late Charles Truesdell, of Norwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of April 6, 2022, at the age of 87, in the same home she was born in, 1971 Cleneay Avenue. She was born on August 13, 1934, to Norman and Mary Margaret Hayes, who both preceded her in death. Theresa was married to Charlie for 60 years of love and devotion to one another.
She graduated in 1953 from Regina High School, Norwood, Ohio, and worked at US Playing Card from 1954 to 1955 where she met her future husband Charlie. They went on to have six children in nine years; Jim, Janice, Jackie, Joe, Chuck, and Carolyn.
Theresa was a very active member of the Norwood Community, even running for Norwood City Council in the 1980s. She was also very active in her childrens lives as PTA President, Den Mother in Cub Scouts, and a High School Band Booster. She loved serving her church community at St. Peter and Paul, teaching Sunday School, and helping organize the church festival every summer. Theresa was an avid reader, gardener, and traveler. She spent her retirement traveling the country with Charlie, visiting her children and grandchildren. Theresa and Charlie were the true definitions of Snow Birds, spending their winters in Tampa Florida, and summers in upstate New York, stopping in Norwood in between. She got to travel to Paris, France right before the pandemic hit in 2019.
Theresa is survived by her six children, Jim (Amy) Truesdell of Loveland, Ohio, Janice (George) Daugherty of Norwood, Ohio, Jackie (Peter) Roberts of Chesapeake, Virginia, Joe (Deb) Truesdell of Adams, NY, Chuck Truesdell of Norwood, Ohio, and Carolyn (Charles) Baker of Loveland, Ohio.
Theresa enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Ken, Kris, Stacy, Kimberly, Derek, Nathan, Sara, Ryan, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Meghan, Amanda, Jessica, Mathew, Kyle, Sean, Abby, Alex, Christopher, and great-grandchildren: Katlyn, Chloe, Joey, Anabelle, Caleb, Izzy, Lilly, Aiden, Bryan, Damon, Naomi, Ethan, Natalie, Juniper, and Jaxson.
She is survived by her sister Cathy Sader and preceded in death by her brothers Norman, Pat, Johnny, and Danny Hayes, and her sister Margaret Wagner.
Visitation will be held at Naegele Funeral Home in Norwood, Ohio from 2-5 PM Sunday, April 10, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Norwood, Ohio at 10 AM Monday, April 11, 2022, followed by burial at St. Philomena Church Cemetery in Owensville, Ohio.
