Patty J (Guy) McDermott

Patty passed away suddenly at home in Hamilton on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 70. Patty was the third of 13 children. Growing up in Norwood, Ohio, her adventurous free spirit soon had her off to the East Coast, not long after graduation from Regina High School. Making the move by herself, she ended up living in New York and New Jersey for many years. She travelled extensively and even lived in Singapore for some time. She returned home years ago and enjoyed hosting her large family and friends for any number of events, including Christmas and graduation parties. She enjoyed her work life at M. Bohlke Veneer, where she was still working up until the time of her death. She loved her friends, many she has had since a very young age. She loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as if they were her own. Patty was also a proud Dog Mom to many wonderful dogs, including Clancy, Mindy, Reggie & Marco. Patty is survived by her siblings, Jo Ann Ramos, Loretta Guy, Bernie Howison, Mary (Mike) Spille, Tom (Theresa), Richard (Tammy) and Michael (Cathy) Guy, Christine (Rick) Buglione, Colleen (Art) Smith, Tracy (Ken) Ott, Daniel "George" (Stacey) Guy and Jackie (Jeff) Manzi, also survived by many nieces, newpews and great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Naegele, Kleb & Ihlendorf Funeral Home, 3900 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, Ohio 45212 on Saturday, June 26 from 11AM-1PM. Patty's Celebration of Life will continue at the American Legion, 5129 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, Ohio 45212 from 1-4PM, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hydrocephalus Association, 4340 E.W.
