Phillip "Mike" Barnard

Phillip "Mike" beloved husband of Peggy (nee Reardon), loving father of Shannon (Leonard) Costa, Brittney (Bret) Ramsey and Michael Jr. (Carrie) Barnard, adored papaw of Jacob, Tyler, Nicholas, Ashley, Bodie, Allison, Tucker and Blake, dear brother of Brenda Abbott. Also survived by numerous other family and friends. Passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the age of 69. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 10 AM at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church, 2417 Indian Mound Ave, Norwood. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Haven Youth Group, mailed to the church.

Phillip Michael Barnard was born in Cumberland, Kentucky on November 3rd, 1950. His family moved to Ohio and eventually settled in Norwood. A 1968 Norwood graduate, went to serve in the United States Navy from 1969-1975, before returning home to graduate with a Bachelors of Science Degree from The Ohio State University. He married the love of his life Peggy Ann in 1981, 38 years ago. Together, they loved and raised three children Shannon, Brittney, and Mike Jr.. There isn't a doubt that the favorite title he ever held was the title of "Papaw," to his eight beautiful grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by so many friends and family.
