Phyllis (Owens) Edwards-Bates

Phyllis (nee Owens) beloved wife of John Bates, loving mother of Michelle Edwards-Durbin and David Edwards, adored grandmother of Bryan (Amanda), Samantha and Derek Durbin, Morgan and Ronald Edwards, devoted gigi of Hadley and Talia Durbin, cherished sister of Barb (Les) Brooks, Millie Stahl, Pam (Dave) Morris and sister-in-law of Steve (Connie) Edwards, precious aunt to many nieces and nephews, dear step mom of Jason (Siri) Bates, Ray (the late Erin) Bates, Matt (Tiffany) Bates, Andy (Tara) Bates, Donald Bates, Angela (Jay) Wagner and Grace Bates, caring step grandmother of 12  grandkids. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stuart Edwards, her beloved parents, Millard and Lola Owens, parents-in-law, Sam and Pauline Edwards and siblings, Robert and Geraldine Owens and Joyce Simpkins. Went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the age of 69. Private services will be held for immediate family and a Celebration of Life will be celebrated for her at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Haven Missionary Baptist Youth Group or American Cancer Society.
