Margaret (Marge) Wilson (nee O’Hearn) peacefully joined the choir of angels on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the age of 85. Born to Elizabeth (Faulkner) and Richard O’Hearn in 1935, she resided in several Cincinnati neighborhoods including College Hill, Peach Grove, Corryville, and eventually moved across the river to Newport. After the death of her father when she was six, she spent summers with her grandparents at their farm in Blanchester and later enjoyed sharing stories of life on the farm. She was a longtime resident of Norwood and later moved to Montgomery where she lived the final 18 years of her life. A lifelong lover of hockey, she was a fan of the original Cincinnati team, the Mowhawks. She instilled her love of the game to her kids and grandkids as she had Cyclones season tickets with Mitzi and Paul and relished the opportunity to travel and watch her grandsons play. One of her final Sundays was spent with Donna watching the NHL playoffs. She dedicated most of her life to the service of others. She served St. Matthew’s Parish, and St. Matthew’s, Gressle and Holy Trinity Schools in a variety of capacities including playground mother, Girl Scout leader, athletic booster, parish council member, choir member and reading tutor. She was a “team mom” and “mom taxi” before the terms were coined. As her kids transitioned to Norwood High School, she also moved on to volunteer at the football game concession stand and for the athletic boosters. Once her kids “grew up”, she returned to the workforce and began a 25-year career at Good Samaritan Hospital, officially as a clerk on various units; unofficially as a “doctor” and “CEO”. At the same time, she did what she could to support her grandchildren as “Grandma”, “Granny Marge” and “Nearby Grandma”. Although her second bout of lymphoma forced her to retire, she thoroughly enjoyed putzing around the house accompanied by her amazing collection of music including the Beetles, Josh Groban and Pavarotti. She cherished assisting her son-in-law Ed with home improvement projects, eventually accepting the role of “supervisor” once she was no longer able to help. While Mitzi faithfully assisted her in the last few years, as her health began to decline, Mary and Marie organized the family care team so Marge could enjoy being showered by the love and comfort of all her kids and grandkids. Fortunately, she was able to stay in her home until her final four days. In her last act of service, she donated her body to the University of Cincinnati Medical School. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Richard, Bill (Red) and Pat O’Hearn and her husband Ron. She is survived by her children Donna Reinert, Paul (Kelly) Wilson, Carolyn “Mitzi” (Hayes) Kelley, and Mary (Ed) Oenbrink, her beloved grandchildren Jake (Jessica) and Marie Reinert, Abby and Jay Wilson, Nick Oenbrink, Quinn Kelley and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Kelly O’Leary Center for Autism at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Autism Spectrum Disorders | Cincinnati Children's (cincinnatichildrens.org).
